Prof. Christopher O. Emokaro

Professor EMOKARO, is a Professor of Agricultural Economics and Commonwealth Professional Fellow (CPF) in the Department of Agricultural Economics and Resource Management, Faculty of Agriculture University of Benin, Nigeria. He has about two decades experience in teaching and research and is the immediate past Director of the Centre for Distance Learning, University of Benin. He was the Assistant Dean of Faculty of Agriculture (2011-2014) and Head, Department of Agricultural Economics and Extension Services (2013 – 2015), University of Benin. He was also a Principal Research Fellow at LAPO Institute of Microfinance and Enterprise Development(2018 – 2019, on Sabbatical Leave Appointment).
He served as Co-Investigator on the GBP 7 million RECIRCULATE Project, from the University of Benin/Lancaster University Partnership on Global Challenge Research Fund (October, 2017- December, 2021). He was also the Project Manager of the awardwinning ACTUATE translation Project, also funded by the Global Challenge Research Fund, as well as the British Council funded digital co-design to Stimulate Entrepreneurial Thinking in Scientists (SETS) Project. Professor Emokaro has
successfully supervised nine PhD and 41 MSc theses, including numerous undergraduate projects. He has well over 80 scholarly publications and currently serves as External Examiner (both undergraduate and postgraduate)/Professorial Assessorto several universities and is a member of several professional bodies.
