Engr. Osadolor Christopher Izinyon is a Professor of Water Resources and Environmental Engineering and Deputy Centre Leader (Environmental Standards) at the Centre of Excellence for Sustainable Procurement, Environmental and Social standards Enhancement (SPESSE-CE) at the University of Benin, Benin City. He holds a doctorate degree in Water Resources and Environmental Engineering and have attended many postgraduate training courses in universities in different parts of the world some of the most recent are at the UNESCO- IHE Institute for Water Education, Delft. Netherlands and the Weitz Center for sustainable Development, Hebrew University of Jerusalem, Rehovot. State of Israel as a MASHAV Fellow.
Engr (Prof) O.C. Izinyon is a thorough-bred water sector professional with over 30 years cognate experience spanning academics, planning, design, rehabilitation, operations and management of water supply systems and in international engineering consultancy. He is a corporate member of the Nigerian Society of Engineers (NSE) and the Nigerian Association of Hydrological Sciences (NAHS) and Fellow of the Nigerian Institution of Civil Engineers as well as Fellow of the Nigerian Institution of Environmental Engineers. Prof. Izinyon is registered by the Council for the Regulation of Engineering in Nigeria (COREN) and has authored more than 90 research papers in learned journals and chapters in books both locally and internationally. Professor Izinyon coordinated the Hydrology component of the research project on climate variability, water use, energy, food and environment (WEFE) Nexus in the Lower Niger Basin supported by Joint Research Centre (JRC) of the European Commission and Human Capacity Development component supported by UNESCO under the auspices of the EU-NEPAD Centre of Excellence for Water sciences and Technology.
Professor O.C. Izinyon have been involved in the development of master, regional, redevelopment and long-term development plans for several states in Nigeria including Edo, Delta, Kwara, Taraba and others.
Prof. Izinyon will deploy his rich professional experience and exposure in the discharge of this assignment.
